ABOUT ME

Profile Image

Thanks for stopping by. Officially, I am a mechanical engineering graduate who is currently pursuing a second degree in computer science. A more apt description is that I am simply someone who lives for innovative technology, elegant design, and revolutionary products!

From an early age, I have loved technology — I distinctly remember the moment I bought my first iMac desktop. I was 12 years old and was bewildered by the fact that so much power and possibility could fit in one sleek enclosure. My goal is to bring this same sense of satisfaction and awe to the end consumer on any project in which I am involved.

My fascination for how the world works is what drove me to start my post-secondary education with mechanical engineering. Nowadays, I spend most of my time programming. I am happiest when working on software development for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects. I enjoy working in fast-paced and team-based environments and am excited most by pushing limits and designing elegant solutions.

PROJECTS

Double Line Chart Icon
Stock Price Predictive Model and Web Application

Sept - Dec 2017

Developed a model to predict stock closing prices using half a days worth of data. Peak company-specific accuracy reached 80% while overall precision peaked at approximately 70%. We developed a single-page web application allowing users to search and get company-specific predictions; the application was supported by a Python backend.

Automated Conveyor Sorting System

Jan - May 2017

Developed an interrupt based system to sort 4 types of blocks (black plastic, white plastic, steel, and aluminum) by writing firmware to integrate a DC motor, a stepper motor, and a variety of sensors. Speed maximization was the objective — our system sorted 48 blocks in 28 seconds with 98% accuracy.

Autonomous Miniature Greenhouse

May - August 2016

Inspired by sustainable living, our team designed a miniature automated greenhouse. I integrated sensors and developed firmware to automatically maintain specified environmental conditions. Our team received the ‘Most Commercial Ready Product’ award at our project demonstration.

Dumbbell Icon
Outdoor Workout Apparatus

May - August 2015

Conceptualized, designed, and built an outdoor calisthenics gym to meet a variety of constraints including required equipment, size limitations, budget, and weather conditions. I shared a video montage of the process on YouTube which has now been viewed over 1.3 million times and has been 99% well received.

Pseudo "Nuclear Disaster Clean-up" Robot

Jan - May 2013

Wrote firmware to automatically navigate an enclosed space using limit switches, infrared sensors, and an ultrasonic sensor. Motivated by the Fukushima disaster, we were tasked with designing “pseudo disaster cleanup” robots out of VEX components. The robot was required to autonomously navigate to a randomly placed, infrared-emitting cone and "neutralize the source" — our group covered it with a cone.
